Chef Hanis pairs with Societe Brewing for Five Chef Societe Dinner October 18, 2012 So, what’s “The Five Chef Societe” you may ask? A group of some of San Diego’s finest “food enforcers” getting together for a San Diego Beer Week event at the Handlery on November 5, 2012. That’s what! Carnitas’ Snack Shack chef Hanis Cavin joins four of his chefriends for this unique craft beer and food tasting event on Monday night, November 5th, 2012, at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley. The evening begins at 7pm with a Brewer’s Reception in the 950 Lounge featuring local San Diego Societe Brewing Company’s fine beers, light hors d’oeuvre and Flamenco guitarist David Maldonado. From there, we’ll move to the hotel restaurant where each beer and tasting course will be presented by a member of the “Five Chef Societe,” who also happen to be some of the finest chefs in all of San Diego: Chef Hanis Cavin of Carnitas’ Snack Shack is pairing with “The Butcher,” Anthony Sinsay of Burlap with “The Harlot,” Eric Sarkisian of Tom Ham’s Lighthouse with “The Debutante,” Misty Birchall & Kaitlin Jaime of PubCakes with “The Widow” and Karl Prohaska of the Handlery Hotel with “The Dandy.” Each chef has been tasked with presenting a single tasting course designed to go with their Societe beer, resulting in a unique, “one time and it’s gone forever” event.
