Carnitas’ Snack Shack wins 2013 CRA Award

Carnitas’ Snack Shack restaurant in North Park was awarded 2013’s Gold Medallion for Quick Service Casual Dining from the California Restaurant Association on Tuesday night June 4, 2013.

Owners Hanis Cavin and Sara Stroud are deeply honored to have again been recognized by San Diego’s local chapter of the CRA. The 29th Annual Gold Medallion Awards, San Diego’s most prestigious restaurant honors, were held Tuesday night June 4, 2013, at the Town and Country Resort Hotel. Carnitas’ Snack Shack was previously awarded “Best New Restaurant” in 2012, and Cavin was awarded “Chef of the Year” in 2009, by the California Restaurant Association.

The industry awards gala is a highly celebrated, peer-to-peer awards dinner in San Diego, recognizing worthy and exceptional restaurants in the region. It is an opportunity for members to acknowledge their fellow restaurateurs for their business practices, concepts, and achievements in more than 40 award categories.
