Finding tasty, locally sourced ingredients is a must for Carnitas’ Snack Shack. That’s why Chef Hanis chose Sadie Rose Baking Company’s Amish Kaiser Buns for the ‘Triple Threat’ Pork Sandwich and his Shack Burger.

“Sadie Rose has great artisan breads,” says Hanis, “and the capacity to keep up with our growing demands.” Here’s what they say…

“Sadie Rose’s San Diego’s love affair with all things pork has gotten more fuel for the fire with the opening of Carnitas Snack Shack. The name alone is enough to make you want to take a spot in line. On an unassuming stretch of University Avenue in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood stands the small building that used to house a well-loved Vietnamese take-out spot. With a nice modern revamp and lots of cool wood paneling, the Snack Shack is plenty inviting and has counter and table seating.”

“Chef Hanis has created one impressive menu of pork options, just about any way you want it. The Shack BLT (pictured above) was like no other we’ve had, the ham and the house-made aioli made it extra special. The Pork Belly App (also pictured above) is perfectly spicy and oh so succulent. Even the Veggie Eggplant App was amazing with gorgonzola and balsamic. There is a burger on the menu, topped with bacon jam!”
