Carnitas' Snack Shack Participates in Taco Throwdown

Carnitas’ Snack Shack will participate in the 2nd Annual Front Burner Fund Taco Fest at Catalina Offshore Products this Sunday, September 22, 2013. Come on down to the second annual Taco Fest as Chef Hanis and friends bring their best tacos. BNS Brewing will be on hand and and there will be judging and a prize for the best taco.
Live music by the Push Pins. This is an all ages event.

About the Front Burner Fund

Founded in 2012 by four San Diego culinary leaders, the Front Burner Fund is a 501c-3 charity committed to raising funds to assist back of house restaurant staff with health costs and emergency medical needs. The fund is the first of its kind in San Diego and the newly formed 501c-3 non-profit will serve as a monetary benefactor to help cover emergency medical needs and healthcare costs of the independent “back of house” culinary community.

Local chefs and back of house staff can apply for a grant by writing a letter detailing their reason of need to Ron Troyano at ron@alchemy.com or Julie Darling at chefjulie@me.com.
